The AI startup Inflection AI has announced a successful funding round, raising $1.3 billion, which brings the company’s estimated valuation to $4 billion. Notable contributors to the round include Reid Hoffman, Bill Gates, and Nvidia.

Ambitious Project in the Pipeline

With the new funding, Inflection AI plans to develop a robust AI computing cluster. According to Mustafa Suleyman, the company’s CEO, this project aims to create one of the most powerful supercomputers globally, using Nvidia’s H100 chips.

Inflection AI’s origins trace back to a partnership between established tech figures. Mustafa Suleyman, co-founder of Google’s AI lab, DeepMind, teamed up with LinkedIn‘s co-founder Reid Hoffman to form the company. The recent funding round further connected Inflection AI with significant names in the tech industry, with Bill Gates and Nvidia among the investors.

Inflection AI is currently developing an AI chatbot named Pi (short for “personal intelligence”). The goal is to create a system capable of performing a wide variety of tasks and delivering information in a conversational style. With its human-like interaction, Pi aims to redefine the relationship between humans and technology. Suleyman noted:

“It will book appointments for you; it will plan holidays; it will buy things for you and be a scheduler.”
